All the Hemingaw stories we have read we found common elements. The idea of loneliness and depressions related to this loneliness are very often, many characters are old and lonely, have no family..we can se this in "A clean, well lighted place" for example. The old man stays drinking at the bar beacuse of his loneliness, and the idea of light is related to life,as dark is related to death. In " Old man at the bridge" the old man is also lonely and depressed, and his situation can be easily compared with the man at the bar.
Hemingway's "nada" concept is aleways present to.We always find a character who is not afraid of dead, and who is a real man, with dignity and honor.Like Wilson,in "The short, happy life of Francis Macombre",he was a real true man,who had no fear to death and faced danger when he hunted. When Macomber lost his fear,he could hunt succesfully and become a real man too..but this didn't lasted much as he was shoted be his wife, but he died happy and as a real man at least.

Congratulations!! you opened your blog. Now you can keep exploring it, I am doing that(whenever possible).
Your reaction to Hemingway was good though you have some language mistakes ( We'll talk about it later. I'd like you to include "Now I lay me" and "Snows.."
See you next week
